Daimler Motor Company was a manufacturer of motor vehicles. It was founded in 1896 and had its headquarters in Coventry, England. Like many companies in the automotive industry it did not survive as an independent company and Daimler was acquired by BSA in 1910 and later (1960) by Jaguar Cars. Daimler manufactures / manufactured mostly cars but it also produced a line of bus chassis, mostly used for double decker buses. Between 1970 and 1978 it was even the standard for the London double deckers. Production of these chassis under the Daimler brand ceased however in 1973.
