Photo of a Stagecoach Lancaster bus at depot

Stagecoach Lancaster city bus 30458 (M458VHE, Volvo B6-50 chassis, Alexander body, built in 1995) 'not in service' at a depot. Does anyone know what the blue box with hose is next to it; water or diesel?
The red double decker bus show a sign of the Laxey Heritage Trust of the Isle of Man.

The blue boxes are pretty much not used anymore, they used to contain air and water hoses but were rarely used
